What is Reiki?

The Center for Reiki Training describes Reiki as follows: Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy " flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei, which means "God’s Wisdom or the Higher Power", and Ki which is "life force energy." So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit, and creates many beneficial effects including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being. Many clients have reported miraculous results.

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by the Reiki Master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one’s health and enhance the quality of life. Its use is not dependent on one’s intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

FIRST DEGREE REIKI - Through a combination of lecture and hands -on experience, the student begins an exciting adventure into energy healing. Class includes the history of Reiki, how to use Reiki for self - treatment and treatment of others, the Reiki hand positions, and the opportunity to give and to receive a full Reiki treatment. Each student is attuned to the Reiki Energy to become a Certified Reiki I Practitioner.

SECOND DEGREE REIKI - Second Degree is available to those students who have been initiated into Reiki I and who feel they wish to pursue a higher and more powerful level of Reiki Energy. Instructions are given in the use of the ancient Reiki Symbols to increase energy during treatments, to reach the subconscious mind, and to send energy healing long distance. Each student is attuned to Second Degree Energy to become a Certified Reiki II Practitioner.

ADVANCED REIKI TRAINING - Each student is attuned to the Usui Master Symbol for Healing to become a Certified Advanced Reiki Practitioner. The use of a Crystal Grid for sending Reiki for distant healing, personal healing, and to affirm and manifest goals is taught. A Reiki Guide Meditation is led that invites one to see and talk with ones Reiki Guides. A Reiki Symbol Meditation is led which strengthens the mind and expands ones consciousness. Reiki Breath Work is taught which assists in removing negative psychic energy from oneself and others.

REIKI MASTERSHIP CLASS - This level of instruction includes learning a healing attunement, receiving the master symbols for initiating others into Reiki, and presenting detailed instructions about teaching classes. Techniques for Reiki Master attunement and instructions on how to pass on attunements for all levels of Reiki energy are offered. This 2-day class allows plenty of time to practice giving attunements to classmates.

KARUNA REIKI ® MASTER WORKSHOP- This three day workshop teaches you 8 new symbols for healing and the Karuna Master symbol. Information and practice on giving attunements for Karuna Reiki are taught. The use of chanting and toning in combination with the Karuna symbols is taught and practiced. The shadow self-meditation is led to help students identify and begin to heal and remove blocks. Karuna Reiki® is registered by the International Center for Reiki Training. At the completion of this class you are a registered Karuna Reiki® Master with the Center.
